MY DARLING LEMON THYME

celebrating two milestones with cupcakes…

Today is a pretty special day. Not only is my baby girl turning six, but the Dalai Lama is celebrating his 77th birthday and this here little blog is turning 2! I’m not going to get all sentimental… but lets just say it’s been great. Better than great in fact. When I first started this blog, like motherhood, I had no clue of what I was doing. I had no idea that food would take over my life, my every thought, even more so than when I worked professionally as a chef and I really had no idea how cool it would be to meet so many other (slightly insane, lets admit) fellow food lovers! I’ve always thought of myself as kinda strange that I’d rather read a good cookbook than a novel, but it’s reassuring to know that I am not alone ๐Ÿ™‚

Blogging (like motherhood) has taught me that I can survive on very little sleep and still function just fine, that a kind word from a stranger can make ya day and that food really does make everything better. Why else would we all be here eh?

It’s been so lovely to have you guys here, truly
xx emm

  1. Happy Birthing Day Emma! Look at the 2 wonders you have created on this day on various years ๐Ÿ™‚
Your comment about cook books made me laugh visitors ask if I have any 'proper' books to read when they come to stay…you know like a novel? pfft…proper.

    1. Thanks love. My Dad would always ask the same question when he came over for a visit… nope just cookbooks/magazine here Dad ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Happy Birthday to your daughter and the blog, Emma! You can be proud of yourself. I always look forward to your posts. Keep up the good work. My blog is turning 3 tomorrow, I am still experimenting with the cake….. if it doesn't turn out, we might just have a pasta salad…. that's the tough life of a food blogger ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. How wonderful Emm! You are an inspiration. Perhaps if I had a 6 year old instead of a nearly 2 year old, I could re-embrace the sleepless life of early motherhood and food blogging as well. Instead, I'm embracing Oliver sleeping through the night (sort of), and sleeping more, blogging less. But as the Dalai Lama would concur, this, too, will pass. Happy Birthdays! xx

    1. My six year old has only just this year started sleeping through the night most nights of the week, so you are doing good! Enjoy your sleep love ๐Ÿ™‚
