5 years ago today I became a mum. I’m finding it a little hard to believe really. The first 6 months felt like an eternity and then within the blink of an eye, boom… Ada’s 5. Today we are not only celebrating Ada’s birthday but also the 1st birthday of my darling lemon thyme! Once again I am finding it hard to believe that one year has passed since my first post. This past year has been a massive one for our family and I thank you all for sharing it with us. It’s not every year you start a blog, get married and move to the other side of the world! (Okay slight exaggeration, but Perth is the most isolated city in the world).
I can’t begin to thank you all enough for your support, your kind words of encouragement, your emails, comments and suggestions. I know it’s been said a million times before, but this blogging community is a great one. Never before had I thought I would “meet” and make contact with so many like-minded food obsessed people, from every corner of the world.

Just beautiful Em ~ Huge congrats on being both the gorgeous mum of a stunning little girl and also an amazing and inspirational blogger ~ arohanui to you sister xoxox
Congratulations. Thank you for the wonderful blog and the great recipes. I love the community that blogging can create! And a 5-year-old? That would just about make me crazy, so thank you for being a caring and loving mum. I see far too many families on the other end of the spectrum, and it makes me so, so happy to know that there are other realities out there. Thank you and congratulations!
wow congrats em, love your work 🙂
Happy birthday to your little one and the blog! And to bright and happy futures for you both! xo
Oh and I love the montages!
Congratulations Emm! I agree, it is so nice to get to 'know' people whose blogs you read and I have really enjoyed interacting with you both here, on email and in the 101 library……doesn't a year fly by quickly!
Thank you guys! See, 5 of my most special online friends! Well okay Mel (Anahera moon)I have known you for a lot longer, but you know what I mean. Lotsa love ladies xxx
Lovely post…lovely blog! I've loved getting to know you from way over here in Ohio. Best wishes for even better things yet to come!
Happy Birthday and Happy Birthday!! 🙂 🙂
Is Perth really the most isolated city in the world? It's only a 3 hour flight away from Bali! (the reason I know is because I almost visited my cousin who then lived in Perth last December.. but then we agreed to meet in Bali instead)
Congrats Emm and Happy Birthday Ada!
I'm looking forward to many more years 🙂
Very good things happen on July 6 – it's my birthday, my dear friend's daughter's birthday, and another new baby born to a friend yesterday, just making it before the deadline. Happy birthday to MDLT – it won't be long before it's five too!
Congratulations to 5 years for you and you loved one and for one year of one most amazing blog.

Congrats Emm, what a busy year! I just celebrated my first 7 months at The Good Soup… because I forgot to celebrate 6 months. Too busy! I mentioned you and My Darling Lemon Thyme in my celebration, because I've been reading your wonderful blog from the very beginning of mine. Best of luck and happiness to you for the next year. Looking forward to sharing it with you.

Yep – big year. I'm certainly glad I found your blog. Congratulations.
Raj~ I've read that Perths the most isolated city in the world, I guess because it's so god damn far away from the East coast of Australia? Oh yes, but so close to Bali and the rest of Asia! Yippeeee!
Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes 🙂
Happy birthday to your blog and to your little one! It's always lovely to read your blog 🙂
Happy Birthday! I stumbled across your blog for the first time just today and loved it. I think I went through all your post because they were so beautiful. I am definitely following and can't wait to try out some of those recipes. Have a wonderful day and I look forward to more posts.

Hi Emma
Have been watching your blog for a while but felt compelled to comment on the Perth bit, Perth holds a special spot in my life as I spent a year there at HMAS Leeuwin in Fremantle in 1969 and special places over there for me were were Busselton and Margaret River, Comparable to Raglan. Take care and enjoy life in WA

Hey thanks so much for your comment Peter. Is this Peter Revell that we used to know as kids? Lived at the bottom of Hills Rd? If so, Hi!!!
Margaret River is beautiful eh? I'm yet to get to Busselton, but hope to some day soon. Take care xx
